What Kids Can Do
Did you know goats are like superheros?
Even though goats can’t fly or run really fast, they can eat a whole lot. A goat’s superpower is how much they eat, and they eat a lot of things that aren’t good for the earth. One of these bad guys is Honeysuckle. Honeysuckle is a plant that grows so big, it doesn’t let other plants grow. When this happens, Honeysuckle takes over and goats are the only thing that can rescue the other plants. The goats eat the Honeysuckle until there is none left, and the other plants can grow again! The goats saved the day!
Invasive Species
Invasive species are mean. Invasive species can be a plant, an animal, or any other thing that hurts another species home. These plants and animals force other species to find another home. When these invasive species take over an area, they change everything there which ends up hurting the earth. Look at the picture, Frank is an invasive species, and he eats all of the food leaving nothing left for anyone else.
How you can be a superhero too!
You can be a superhero too! You can help the goats by making sure there are not invasive species in the places you go outside. You can plant things that are native to that area, and that will not hurt the things already living there. When you do these things, you make the earth happier and become a superhero just like the goats.
